the ghosts of catahoula

THE GHOSTS OF CATAHOULA get laid out in the Madonna Hall, but it’s not a true death, because as soon as they’re buried in Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery, they sprout from a whirlpool at the lake’s deepest point and live life all over again.
They never really die, because theyre always being reborn. And the ghosts are always dancing. Somehow they remain. Maybe its the sacred energy of the lake that sustains them. Maybe its the pictures they crawl into and haunt.
