below absolute zero

WHEN WE SAY the soul is deep, how deep do we really mean? Deeper than the smallest capillary? Deeper than the darkest neuron? Doesn’t the soul go deeper than that, deeper than anatomy?
     Or is the soul so deep it’s the opposite of deep? Like how atoms made colder than absolute zero — surprise — become infinitely hot.
     Maybe the soul is a strange loop too — deeper than deep, so deep it’s shallow. Maybe the soul coats the human surface like a second supple skin, always in plain sight, neither hidden nor elusive.

     Wouldn’t that be deep?
