generosity

Generosity isn't about gift-giving or the sharing of material wealth.

You're being generous when you welcome someone who may be feeling excluded into your group's conversation. You're being generous when you give praise where none is expected. You're being generous when you let a car into your lane, and you don't mind that the driver doesn't give you a friendly wave in return. True generosity doesn't clamor for reciprocation. When you give of yourself, and you give it freely, you always have something to give. In that sense we are all rich.
